Andrew McDonnell

Studio III Director

BSc., MSc., PhD. Consultant Clinical Psychologist to and Director of Studio III Clinical Services; Director, clinical consultant and Team Leader to Studio III Training; formerly Clinical Psychologist to Monyhull Hospital Birmingham. Andrew has particular interest in the design of community settings for people who challenge. He has extensive experience of working with service users with a learning disability and/or an ASD who self harm.

Dave Walker

David is a Counsellor and Psychotherapist specialising in behavioural support with an M.Sc. in Counselling and Psychotherapy, Post Graduate Diploma in Integrated Counselling, Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Diploma in Community and Youth Work, B.Sc. (Hons) Psychology and is a BILD Accredited MCB Trainer. He has over 25 years experience working with children and adults with complex and challenging behaviours and the families and carers of these children.

B.Sc., P.G.C.E., Dip S.L., M.Phil., M.Sc., D.Phil. Michael is a Health Psychologist with over 25 years experience working with people with neuro-developmental conditions and/or acquired brain injury. Michael works in a range of health, educational and care settings in the UK, Scandinavia and Ireland. . In addition, to clinical responsibilities Michael has substantial input to the Atlass programme and a teaching remit within Strathclyde University.

Bsc.(Hons) with over 20 years practitioner experience working with people on the autism spectrum. Fiona joined Studio 3 in 2011 and supports both the clinical and training companies providing on-the-ground specialist behaviour support and coaching as well as training for a number of providers in the UK and Ireland. Fiona has worked with children, young people and their families, adults and staff teams across the fields of Intellectual Disability, and Autism Spectrum Conditions, and in Mental Health Services in both secure and community settings.

BSc (Hons) Psychology, MSc Clinical Psychological Research. Charlotte is an Associate Psychologist for Studio III Clinical Services. She has previously worked as a demonstrator at Northumbria University, as well as gaining experience with challenging behaviour in older adults and on a neuro-rehabilitation ward providing cognitive assessments and CBT based psycho-educational groups. At Studio 3, Charlotte promotes autism-informed practice with a person-centred approach.

MSc., LLB (Hons). John is associate psychologist in training on the doctoral training programme for counselling psychology. He provides clinical support to service providers and individuals in both Ireland and the UK, working with a wide range of clients who have intellectual disability and/or autism.

Andrea is a module leader and lecturer on foundation nursing skills and issues relating to the care of people with a learning disability for level 4, 5 and 6 undergraduate students.

Bo is a clinical psychologist based in Scandinavia. His work with guidance and lecturing concerning managing challenging behavior. Bo’s field is care and special education, mainly concerning children and adults with developmental disabilities such as autism, Asperger´s syndrome, ADHD or intellectual disabilities.

Robert Whiskens began working as a trainer for Studio 3 mid 2004. Pre Studio 3 Robert had worked for several large autism/Asperger specific services around the country. Each service provided its service users with a slightly different model of support. He moved on from his Studio 3 trainer role in March 2017 but continues to work with us on some projects.

David Jones is a consultant Clinical psychologist, with over 20 years of practitioner experience. He has practical experience of a variety of populations including, children with emotional and behaviural disorders, older adults, autism. His specialist interests are varied and include: challenging behaviour, autism, ADHD and dyslexia.

Steve has an education background. He is a national assessor for the In service trainers programmes for Studio 3. Steve has a number of specialist interests including: Challenging behaviour and autism.

Kit Howe

Kit Howe is a qualified teacher. He has spent most of his adult career working with children on the autistic spectrum. Kit has been a frontline teacher eventually rising to be Deputy Principal at the Robert Ogden School which is a leading National Autistic Society school. Kit is now an Atlass trainer with a special brief with working with children. Kit has a strong belief that educational programmes should be ‘tailored’ to the individual needs of pupils and that successful learning requires teaching environments which are conducive to optimal learning.

Tim is a Studio 3 trainer with extensive experience of working directly with difficult behaviours. He has a specialist interest in the training of frontline teaching staff in behaviour management practices. He has responsibilities for the development of Studio 3 training in classrooms settings.

Paul Phillips

BSocSc (Hons), BSc IT (Hons), Dip Tr & Dev (Distinction) Paul has recently joined the Studio 3 team in the role of Lead Trainer in Ireland. He delivers courses on Managing Behaviours of Concern, co-ordinates and delivers the Irish ‘Train the Trainer’ schemes, and he tutors on the Atlass programme in both the UK and Ireland. Paul also offers advice and support to the Studio 3 Clinical Practitioners who work in various intellectual disability services in Ireland.

Paul has over 20 years’ experience in the field of behaviours of concern working directly with service users as well as training and supporting staff teams on the ground. Paul is also a qualified TEACCH trainer and has a strong interest in positive interventions for people on the autistic spectrum.

Apart from the different staff training commitments, Paul’s other areas of expertise include; behavioural risk assessment, developing proactive and reactive strategies, supporting families, functional assessment, developing policies, auditing service quality, as well as supporting and coaching staff.
