Studio III Director

BSc., MSc., PhD. Consultant Clinical Psychologist to and Director of Studio III Clinical Services; Director, clinical consultant and Team Leader to Studio III Training; formerly Clinical Psychologist to Monyhull Hospital Birmingham. Andrew has particular interest in the design of community settings for people who challenge. He has extensive experience of working with service users with a learning disability and/or an ASD who self harm.

Dave Walker

David is a Counsellor and Psychotherapist specialising in behavioural support with an M.Sc. in Counselling and Psychotherapy, Post Graduate Diploma in Integrated Counselling, Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Diploma in Community and Youth Work, B.Sc. (Hons) Psychology. He has over 25 years experience working with children and adults with complex and challenging behaviours and the families and carers of these children.

Bsc.(Hons) with over 20 years practitioner experience working with people on the autism spectrum. Fiona joined Studio 3 in 2011 and supports both the clinical and training companies providing on-the-ground specialist behaviour support and coaching as well as training for a number of providers in the UK and Ireland. Fiona has worked with children, young people and their families, adults and staff teams across the fields of Intellectual Disability, and Autism Spectrum Conditions, and in Mental Health Services in both secure and community settings.

and as such has particular interest in relational and systemic approaches to working with individuals, families and caregivers in autism, developmental disability and care settings.

BSc Hons Psychology, MBPsS. Taz is an experienced Assistant Psychologist who has worked in the NHS, private and charitable sector. She has experience working with children and adults with neurodevelopmental disorders, intellectual disabilities and mental health difficulties.

Andrea is a module leader and lecturer on foundation nursing skills and issues relating to the care of people with a learning disability for level 4, 5 and 6 undergraduate students at Birmingham City University.

Bo is a clinical psychologist based in Scandinavia. His work with guidance and lecturing concerning managing challenging behavior. Bo’s field is care and special education, mainly concerning children and adults with developmental disabilities such as autism, Asperger´s syndrome, ADHD or intellectual disabilities.

David Jones is a consultant Clinical psychologist, with over 20 years of practitioner experience. He has practical experience of a variety of populations including, children with emotional and behaviural disorders, older adults, autism. His specialist interests are varied and include: challenging behaviour, autism, ADHD and dyslexia.

Kit Howe

Kit Howe is a qualified teacher. He has spent most of his adult career working with children on the autistic spectrum. Kit has been a frontline teacher eventually rising to be Deputy Principal at the Robert Ogden School which is a leading National Autistic Society school. Kit is now an Atlass trainer with a special brief with working with children. Kit has a strong belief that educational programmes should be ‘tailored’ to the individual needs of pupils and that successful learning requires teaching environments which are conducive to optimal learning.

After various nursing roles, in 1987 Roy became a service provider for people with intellectual disabilities and challenging behaviour and from 2004 developed his research and consultancy work.

Gareth is Director of Curriculum Support (SENCo) & Specialist Leader of Education at Priestnall School, Stockport and Honorary Research Fellow in Education at the University of Manchester. He has authored a number of articles, books, academic papers and publications which can be found on his website.

Jamie trained as a Registered Nurse, Assessor and Teacher in clinical practice. Jamie post graduated as a
Registered Nurse Behaviour Therapist. He has held various posts, including a Clinical Nurse Specialist
post within the regional forensic health authorities and social services.

Mark Wetherell is an Associate Professor of Psychobiology & Health Psychology, Postgraduate Programme Leader for Health Psychology and a Practicing Health Psychologist registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC). He is a member of the Health Interventions and Wellbeing Research Group and the Health in Action Research Group, where he leads the stress research theme and is the Associate Director of the Northumbria Centre for Sleep Research.

Mary has been an Assistant Psychologist and Behaviour advisor with Studio III Clinical Services since July 2017. She is a Studio III trainer and has delivered Studio III Low Arousal training to staff, teachers and parents with Gheel Autism Services in Ireland since 2013.

Damian works part-time for the Tizard Centre, University of Kent as a Lecturer in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and for the National Autistic Society (NAS) as Autism Knowledge and Expertise Consultant.

MA in Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy, Dermot is a Behaviour Support Specialist with over 30 years’ experience working on individual support and organisation development.

Maureen Bennie

Maureen is the mother of two children with autism – Marc age 19 and Julia age 17. For 8 years, she managed an at-home Intensive Behavioral Intervention Program which involved working with speech pathologists, child development specialists, psychologists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists.

Steve has an education background. He is a national assessor for the In service trainers programmes for Studio 3. Steve has a number of specialist interests including: Challenging behaviour and autism.

Tim is a Studio 3 trainer with extensive experience of working directly with difficult behaviours. He has a specialist interest in the training of frontline teaching staff in behaviour management practices. He has responsibilities for the development of Studio 3 training in classrooms settings.

Robert Whiskens began working as a trainer for Studio 3 mid 2004. Pre Studio 3 Robert had worked for several large autism/Asperger specific services around the country. Each service provided its service users with a slightly different model of support.

BSocSc (Hons), BSc IT (Hons), Dip Tr & Dev (Distinction) Paul has recently joined the Studio 3 team in the role of Lead Trainer in Ireland. He delivers courses on Managing Behaviours of Concern, co-ordinates and delivers the Irish ‘Train the Trainer’ schemes, and he tutors on the Atlass programme in both the UK and Ireland. Paul also offers advice and support to the Studio 3 Clinical Practitioners who work in various intellectual disability services in Ireland.
