hi guys,
just writing this thread in the interest of volunteer work. I'm looking for some volunteer work on weekends, namely working with autistic individuals. I'm 20 years of age , and have dealt with autism over the last 3 summers. I worked at a camp in California with kids/adults with all kinds of disabilities , namely autism. I have worked on all on different ends of the spectrum , from severe to autistic tendencies! Last year I did a one year plc in pre-nursing but unfortunately did not get into nursing intellectual disabilities.
Autism fascinates me , and I also wrote a paper on it for my nursing course last year. I really want to try work with people with autism as I feel the past three summers has thought me a lot. If ANY body knows anywhere that I can maybe apply to work with individuals with autism on a volunteer basis , it would be greatly appreciated! :p
