could we place some feedback on the recent David Pitonyak workshops here ....
I was able to go to the conference today, I had a fantastic time.
I was impressed by how thought provoking it was.
Great to hear how other places deal with certain situations.
(E.g microboard)
And the culture of the organisation of fear.
And a very unique presentation style which was very enjoyable. Looking forward to reading the handouts.

A very thought provoking session. I enjoyed discussing how the staff that we work with have problem behaviours and how that affects the way in which we work. David said "people's needs are met best by people who's needs are met". I have experienced in the past problems with the staff team and their behaviours. They always were more of a problem than the clients we were supporting!!!!!
We also looked at loneliness being a disability and how lonely our clients are. We have support systems around us from friends, family etc and sometimes the only people in our clients lives are those who are paid to be there. We have a certain amount of choice who is in our lives, however clients have little or no choice in who supports them.
David also said "Find the right people and 90% of the work is done". This is so true how an inappropriate appointment of a colleque can cause tensions within the home, however a good appointment can change someones life completely.
I really enjoyed this inspiring workshop it certainly gave me food for thought. Thanks to Studio III for the opportunity to have this experience.:p

Really enjoyed what david had to say. Very thought provoking in many ways, a really entertaining teaching style that still hit the parts it needed to. Will be recomending to my training officer that many more staff attend the time david is over here.

I agree with all of the above. I was only able to attend the Monday, anyone who attended the 2nd day, how did that go?
what hit me was the David's style of anedotes (infotainer) and like Becky said, the thought of individuals been lonely.
Used that thought provoker in sessions since!
Jolly Good

I attended monday (04.12.06). I have to split the day up. the first two times 1½ hour was as I see it, a total waste of my time - there was nothing during that time I can use in any way. Stories about how you (david) comes to a workshop 100 % unknowing and unprepered what to say, and at the same time wastes 3 hours of my time, by standing looking like you havent got a clue what to say - because you probaly was totaly unprepered, realy makes me pissed off.... the second two times 1½ hour was better, but still, I don´t think there was much new about it - most I think it was logic... But it´s ok to hear stuff two times.
