i work for a private organisation, we contract the services of a psychologist, fairly experienced. however he regularly boasts about working in copenhagen, dublin, malta and new york, rarely produces a meaningful report and then disappears for two weeks before returning to boast about his recent exploits in a turkish bath house. should we sack him?

Definitely not. A person with an international CV and the broad interests you describe should certainly be retained.

I would take advice from my boss but he's in Denmark at the moment.

Can i please point out that the assistants in the company (who genuinely work REALLY HARD), should have the opportunity to spend time with certain said clinincal psychologist in order to further their learning. If this means going to Malta, Dubin, and Denmark, then so be it; that's the price you have to pay in order to further your knowledge and experience!

I have worked with children who have ADHD, ADD, Alcohol Foetal Syndrome and Autism. Will someone please give me a job becuase I want to come home to Ireland and get paid for something I love?
