My 12 year old son with autism has an issue with a boy in his class, he will not look or speak to him. (It is a mainstream secondary school) He will turn away from him, look towards the floor or shield his eyes. The boy in question also has special needs and used to cry alot. My son has noise sensory issues and the noise would send him running. Although the boy has improved and has tried to be friendly, my son will not engage and has been known to push him away. I wasn't aware that things had got so bad until I had a meeting with headteacher today. can anyone advise a strategy to help them get along. They only have a few classes together, I did suggest seperating them but this isn't possible.
