Hello friends,

I'm having a legal problem hope someone can give a psychologically descriptive answer;

When I was 17+ I had a fight with 8 people. While fighting one person took a knife and tried to stab me, then I was able to take the knife from him but I was injured. After taking the knife out of him I stab five people who was fighting with me. To be honest at that time I was unable to control myself and I could not think of consequences at that moment. As a result one person died and four were injured.

For the moment I have been charged agents a murder and four attempted murders. Now almost eight years has pass and still the case is going on...

According to the lawyers, I have to face 5-10 years of imprisonment if the charges are proved.

I will come back to my question, in middle of a fight I was unable to control myself, and I even though I was injured I did not felt it till the last moment. Is there's a psychological definition to this kind of scenarios?

Hope to receive an early response. Thanking in advance.

We must put in the comment that our knowledge of this the situation is from your perspective and on this limited knowledge we cannot give any legal advice or make any kind of a judgement on your situation........

Emotional Intelligence by Daniel Goleman Bloomsbury Publishers in 1996 ISBN:0-7475-2830-6
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Emotional-Intelligence-Matter-More-Than/dp/0747528306/ref=sr_11_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1239011877&sr=11-1

If I remember correctly he gives examples of people "loosing it" quite early in the book and later talks of emotional hijacking or some other phrase. One was the working girl murders as an example but the man was still convicted as he was breaking into their home (-different situation to yours)

There are also other bits of research on arousal and references to people having a red mist through their actions but I would also search the web for stuff on red mist.

Dear desc,

Thank you very much for your prompt replay. I will go through the book which you have suggested.

But I would like to suggest a different vantage point to look at the same problem: When a person got angry according to the psychological description is there a possibility of happening that kind of a thing? (Loosing the control)

Hello fourmAdmin,

I live on a south Asian developing country, and using this forum I don NOT want any legal advices. Peale do not miss understand.

Simply put what I wanted to know is psychological reasoning for a situation like going out of control in case of a problematic situation. :confused:
