Two care staff ( one of whom was the manager of the home) were charged under the Mental capacity act for strapping three clients in a baking hot car for 3 hours whilst they went to visit a betting shop and an amusement arcade.

The staff were sacked from their posts and given community service.

I do not think they would have got off so lightly had it been a baby left in the back seat?.....................................

And that was something I found in a baking hot car park 18 months ago....
I got the car park security and was about to call the Police when the lady came out of the shops with a trolley full - approx age 35.
"I was only away a minute" . ..... . .. . . . .. . .
I left security to have a word as the child was still asleep when she unlocked the car and I had watched as the infant woke but even so .....

To add to the last comment, i am sure a prison sentance would have been administered if an animal was locked in the vehicle.

Its shocking people behave like this and think its justifiable, community orders are hardly sending the right message either. Its concerning that they even thought it was appropriate to leave them in the car with the window open whilst they went off on a betting jolly in the first place.
