BSc., MSc., PhD. Consultant Clinical Psychologist to and Director of Studio III Clinical Services; Director, clinical consultant and Team Leader to Studio III Training; formerly Clinical Psychologist to Monyhull Hospital Birmingham. Andrew has particular interest in the design of community settings for people who challenge. He has extensive experience of working with service users with a learning disability and/or an ASD who self harm.

Beth has worked for Studio III since 2002, starting part time and becoming full time in 2003. Prior to Studio III, Beth completed her degree and worked in a care setting for adults with learning disabilities and mental health problems, going on to become a manager.
Since working for Studio III, Beth has worked in a number of different settings, with a wide range of people. Beth currently works with young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties in a 1 : 1 situation, as well as providing staff support and assessments, and some group work. Beth also works with adults with learning disabilities and/or mental health difficulties who are living in the community, this involves 1 : 1 work and training for staff.

Director Studio III Clinical Services. David is currently providing support to young people who self harm and their staff teams in a number of specialised settings.

David Jones is a consultant Clinical psychologist, with over 20 years of practitioner experience. He has practical experience of a variety of populations including, children with emotional and behaviural disorders, older adults, autism. His specialist interests are varied and include: challenging behaviour, autism, ADHD and dyslexia.

Des has been working for Studio3 since 1994 and has a range of experiences across the care industry. Pre Studio3 Des was working for a day centre with some Learning Disabilities and Autism. In the evening he was living as a residential volunteer or house parent for a household of young people coming out of care. The young people ranged from 16 - 21 yrs old in a house that was considered particularly challenging at the time. Over the last decade Des has been exposed to a vast range of individuals, across all care fields, who were considered to be challenging. Des has responsibilities to the Train the Trainers scheme and is currently responsible for syllabus consistency.

Emma is a psychology graduate. Her specialist interests include children and adults with autistic spectrum disorders. She works as a assistant psychologist. Her current role includes the development of an online book about low arosual approaches to the management of challenging behaviours.

Graeme Brady

Graeme ran a training film production unit for 15 years during which time he became associated with a SEN facility. Whilst he was primarily involved in resourcing issues at the units, Graeme became interested in the various behavioural management styles practised and was instrumental in steering the staff towards adopting low-arousal approaches. He has been with Studio III for over ten years and currently heads up the operational side of the company as Executive Director.

BA (Hons) Psychology, MSc. Worked in the Health Service for 12 years as both clinician and manager, specialising in working with adults and children with a learning disability. Janet joined Studio III in 2002 as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist.Particular areas of interest include: severe challenging behaviour, self injury, systemic approaches to working with staff teams, low arousal approaches, self supervision.

Jodie is a psychology graduate and will complete her MSc in the summer of 2008. She has previously worked within day centres and supported housing projects, working with clients of varying ages and a range of issues, including mental health problems, learning disabilities and terminal illnesses. Her current research dissertation is focused on staff interaction with individuals with a dual diagnosis of autism and self-injurious behaviour.

BSc. (Hons) Applied Social Sciences. Before joining Studio III, Linda worked for Autism West Midlands as Family Services Manager. For some years Linda worked in the field of mental health and counselling psychology during which time she became very aware of the needs of families and informal carers. She worked for several years in Gloucestershire managing the advice and advocacy team at the Princess Royal Trust for Carers. Over the past four years Linda has been involved in the development and delivery of the management of challenging behaviour courses, including physical interventions, to families. She is a qualified Studio III trainer and is also the parent of a young man with ASD and challenging behaviours.

Rob Whiskens

Rob Whiskens began working as a trainer for Studio3 mid 2004 and has a broad range of experiences across the autistic spectrum specialist part of the care industry. Pre Studio3 Rob was the regional coordinator for an Asperger syndrome specific outreach team based in the West Midlands. Prior to this he had worked for several large autism/Asperger specific services around the country. Each service provided its service users with a slightly different model of support. The people he has supported have varied vastly in age, need and ability, but all could present behaviour that may be described as being challenging, should the conditions be right.
Since working for Studio 3 Rob has frequently worked alongside much broader service user groups. From this he has gained valuable experience and knowledge in both respecting and supporting a range of differences and difficulties.
Rob has also delivered lectures at Birmingham University, school of education, on the subjects of Asperger syndrome, autism, supported living, social support groups, education support and the management of challenging behaviour.

Sam Chromy

Sam has worked in the field of counselling 13 years. She has a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, a Masters in Mental Health Counselling, and a Doctorate in Counsellor Education. She worked as a licensed Mental Health Counsellor, Marriage and Family Therapist, and Clinical Supervisor in community agencies, schools, foster care and private practice settings. Before joining Studio 3 in 2007, Sam worked as a Lecturer and Director of the Masters in Counselling at the University of Bristol. Here she taught a variety of courses including Solution Focused, Family and Narrative therapies and Research Methods. Her research on sexual behaviour problems in children is published in academic journals.

Steve has an education background. He is a national assessor for the In service trainers programmes for Studio3. Steve has a number of specialist interests including: Challenging behaviour and autism.

Steve Gorman

Steve has been a Studio 3 trainer since 2002 and has worked for the company since 2004. He has worked in various Learning Disabilities settings since the early 1990's within the NHS PLD Directorates in the Midlands. These adult services have ranged from respite, supported living to small and large residential units, particularly in the area of resettlement into the community from long stay instituational care. Steve has held positions up to Group Home Manager. In 2000 he became a Training Advisor within a NHS PCT, delivering and advising on staff inductions, LDAF, NVQ's and issues around the understanding and management of behaviours that challenge services. Steve still continues to advise the NHS on training issues.

BA (Hons), MA (Therapeutic Childcare), prior to joining Studio III, Steve was the Staff Support and Development Manager for an eating disorder unit. From this, Steve became General Manager of the entire service which included strategic management of four residential units, an EBD school and a specialised unit for young people who self harm

Tim is a Studio3 trainer with extensive experience of working directly with difficult behaviours. He has a specialist interest in the training of frontline teaching staff in behaviour management practices. He has responsibilities for the development of Studio3 training in classrooms settings.

Trine Firmin

Trine is a Psychologist with qualifications in Counselling, Research, Autism and Behaviour Management. I have experience of developing and delivering various training packages, carrying out service audits and developing service frameworks. I have carried out clinical work with a variety of different service user groups in numerous care settings. I have achieved this through the close liaison with other care professionals in order to promote and endorse the multi-disciplinary approach.
